On March 1, 2011, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Central Bank of Lesotho issued a new series of 2010 banknotes, with a new design and enhanced security levels. The series consists of banknotes in denominations of 10, 20, 50 and 100 maloti. The obverse of all four banknotes depicts a collective portrait of three members of the royal family: the current king (His Majesty Letsie III is shown in the middle), his father (King Moshveshwe II - left) and the founder of Basotho (King Moshveswe I - right).
