The Comoros Franc is the currency of the Comoros. One Comorian franc is sibdivided into 100 centimes. In money circulation there are banknotes of 500, 1, 000, 2 and 000 francs issued in 5-000. Old-style banknotes of 10 and 000 are legal tender and are withdrawn from circulation as they wear out. The Comoros franc is currently being printed at the French National Mint in Paris.

Obverse: in the central part of the Banknote there is an image of a Lemur - an endemic animal of the country. In the lower left corner of the Banknote there are inscriptions and denomination in letters: "MAHA MINDJI TSI MBAWUSO ZA WUSUDJA WUVULANA TSI MDRU HAZALWA HALE | BANQUE CENTRALE DES COMORES | CINQ CENTS FRANCS" (Central Bank of Comoros | five hundred francs). The denomination is marked with "500" in the left part and in the upper right corner of the banknote. The signatures of the authorized persons are located in the lower right corner of the Banknote. The date of issue is indicated on the right side of the Banknote: "2006".
Reverse: In the central part of the Banknote there is an image of the Comorian orchid - an endemic plant for the islands of Grande Comoros and Anjouan. The denomination is indicated in the upper left corner and on the right side of the banknote.
