New salt is the currency of Peru. The new salt was introduced on July 1, 1991 in accordance with the law of January 3, 1991, replacing the Peruvian inti in circulation in the ratio: 1 million inti = 1 new salt. On December 15, 2015, “new salt” was renamed to “salt”. In the country's monetary circulation, there are Banknotes in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 soles. On August 13, 2009, the Central Reserve Bank of Peru introduced a new series of banknotes of the 2009 model with denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 soles.
